Guest guest
Hey everybody- I have never seen anyone talk about whether or not we have a catheter in during surgery? If so, do they put it in while you are " out " ? How long do we have it? Thanks Margaret in St. Louis 12/13/00 BMI 39 ===== Margaret in St. Louis Pre-op 12/13/00 BMI 39 __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Margaret in St. Louis Yes there is a catheter in during surgery!!! It's put in while you're out and it's taken out before you wake up. You'll never know excet for that strange feeling that I felt afterwards, like something had been going on down there that I wasn't aware of. ) Hope that helps. Guest guest
Hi Marg! Nope..none of that! lol Just like Trudy said, it is better for you to take that trip to the potty anyhow. Not too easy of a task with all those Iv tubes but it can be done at a slow and easy pace. Guest guest
Margaret: Dr. R doesn't insert the catheter anymore. The nurse will ask you before they take you down to surgery if you have gone to the bathroom to empty your bladder. I'm so happy for you that you have a date!!!! Keep me posted.
