Hey everybody-

I have never seen anyone talk about whether or not we

have a catheter in during surgery? If so, do they put

it in while you are " out " ? How long do we have it?

Thanks

Nope we don't get one of those, Margaret,

We have to get up and go potty.. Of course the bathroom is only a couple of feet

away from your bed... not too difficult, and good for you to move!

Trudy :)

Yes there is a catheter in during surgery!!! It's put in while you're

out and it's taken out before you wake up. You'll never know excet for

that strange feeling that I felt afterwards, like something had been

going on down there that I wasn't aware of. :o) Hope that helps.

Hi Marg!

Nope..none of that! lol

Just like Trudy said, it is better for you to take

that trip to the potty anyhow. Not too easy of a task

with all those Iv tubes but it can be done at a slow

and easy pace.

Margaret:

Dr. R doesn't insert the catheter anymore. The nurse will ask you before

they take you down to surgery if you have gone to the bathroom to empty your

bladder.

I'm so happy for you that you have a date!!!! Keep me posted.
