Guest guest
Hi , Just another word of support! I miss my glass or two of wine, especially when I come home from work (school) on a Friday evening and want to relax, or when I'm eating out with friends or family. I tend to go to France most summers and the joys of wine were something I really appreciated. I do sympathise with anyone who misses their tipple. My CP is thought to be hereditary (my mother dies of the disease) and my attacks started in early childhood so it certainly wasn't caused by alcohol. However, I stopped all alcohol consumption just over two years ago when I was diagnosed. Of course, I also started to take Creon then as well and moved to a low fat diet so it's difficult to isolate one factor. I have certainly been better since my new regime. I'm certain Creon plays a major part. I never did eat a diet high in fat. Lastly, I'm convinced that not touching alcohol has also helped. I can look back to the odd social occasion when I drank a few wines and remember feeling particularly bad the next day (pancreatic pains, I mean...not hangover!!) We have to stay with this one together. It isn't always easy. Toasting the New Year in tonic water was a low point as was celebrating my son's PhD in lemonade rather than champagne! At least I'm in great demand as a chauffeur now! You're right that the pain itself is a great deterrent. At least you're not on your own, ! take care, Fliss (UK)
