Guest guest
I meant to respond to you and got sidetracked and spacey! But I did read your posts to me and I did read that you have put your possible total pancreatectomy on hold and involved in a cancer early warning study of some sort. I think that is a good idea. I can say that if you don't have to have your panc. hacked out you probably should avoid it because there is no certainity in how things will go. I have my doubts about the efficacy of my surgery though I still think it was the only choice I really had. I am improving I just get set back mostly by diabetes control issues. But I think I just have to be more aggressive, use more insulin (a pump may be in my future)and things will work themselves out. Then there is the issue of pain, which has thankfully changed to something less pervasive. I still get flare ups though and probably will for life but I no longer require heavy, constant medication and go weeks without pain meds sometimes, have never required more than 5 days of constant medication to squelch a flare up. It just is tough because having moved away from where I had my TP I am subject to a lot of misunderstandings and poor ER treatment when I do have a flare up. You know people that doubt that I really had a TP and think I have had a partial, and other doctors that think I am just drug seeking. Anyhow wanted to say thanks for your kind words, and that I hope your CP is controlled and that you can avoid a TP. Blessings, Bert
