Guest guest
, Thanks so much for keeping us updated on Chrissy. It's great that you finally had a chance to meet her at the hospital, and I'm sure that she enjoyed your visit. I wish I could have gotten up there Saturday to see Chrissy, and also to have had seen you again, too! It's been a long time since we got together and I would like to catch up with you on how you and all of your managerie are doing. I had a scare of my own with my four legged long haired creatures....with our declawed female cat Coconut, who is never allowed outdoors. She literally disappeared on Wednesday. Because of the other two cats we didn't really notice her absence until Thursday, and then I went berserk when I couldn't find her anywhere. My husband and I searched both inside and outside for two hours. On Friday morning I put up notices on everyone's mailboxes and called all the vets to see if anyone had called in. By the end of the third day of her absence I was upset and in tears half the time, and hated to tell Austin that she was still gone, as she was originally his cat all the time he lived with us. We were in the living room watching TV and catching up late Saturday evening and I just happened to see a white blur on the window overlooking our porches. There was Coconut, paws up against the window, trying to get in!!! As soon as I opened the door she dashed in, ran around my legs and cried to be picked up. She wasn't even hungry or thirtsy after having been done three days, and her fur was dirty and matted. All she was interested in doing was getting as close to me as possible, begging for attention and for me to pet her. It's really bizarre, and I wish I could find out where she had been, but at least now she's home safe and happily getting attention from everyone. A Saturday visit to the hospital was impossible, though, because I had to go to Savannah to pick up Austin, who's arrived for the summer. We're thrilled to have him home with us, and he's excited to be here and to be going to camp in the SC mountains for his 5th year. I'm sure that you and Chrissy had a stimulating conversation - with her excellent medical background and your medical problems and interest in finding solutions....I'm sure that there weren't any moments of ackward silence, were there? Maybe we can all get together next time I'm up there visiting , like we had planned before. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
