Guest guest
Anyse, You wrote, " Maybe we need to create a phone network and to " talk " with each other. Maybe we need to add to the database our interests and such and try to match them up. I am a database programmer and could actually set up a database ....†I appreciate that motivation and interest. When you mentioned a ‘phone network’, though I see your vision for this, I wanted to let others know about the Telephone Support Network, which is in place for persons that have chronic pancreatitis and do not have access to a computer. We have spoken previously and I have put your name on this list for persons in your area. I know you have long distance, but many do not, so unless they are in your area code, they have not wanted to call long distance. That is why we have Telephone Support Network Volunteers throughout the US, as well as other countries. I think that it is a great idea to have a “Personal Profile Database†which includes our interests, backgrounds, as well as our phone numbers so members can network among themselves on a social level. I know that when we spoke and I learned about your previous participation performing and teaching at music festivals, I was so elated. As we shared our experiences, I was not thinking about my disease, even if it were for a brief moment. There are so many things that have given us joy, fed our spirit, and made us feel ‘a part of’ the world around us. The things that made us feel good. There is extensive amount of research on the healing power of love and laughter. And, though we may not be able to physically do those things that we love, when we share those memories of joy and happiness, our cells laugh, and endorphins are released. We are better for it. I have sent you an email about details of bringing such a “Personal Profile Database†to fruition. In the meantime, I want to remind members that there is a database on the Yahoo website for members to share their contact information.
