Guest guest
Sorry for taking for ever to get back..it has been a bit crazy around here. I removed my daughter and son from school in March...my daughter was very harmed by gluten at school in Feb. and I have no doubt it was going on regularly.(with both kids) The transition hasn't been easy. Maybe now the scd will help. I read on pecanbread.com that sometimes more than the 3bill of probiotics is recomended....I just wanted to know if maybe I should consider giving her more. She is very allergic to eggs, and still has a very strong reaction to nuts and yogurt. I will answer your questions below: > > Hi Cathy, > > What foods does she tolerate? > variety of meats(not fish), carrots, beets, zuchinni, cauliflower, brocoli, green/yellow beans, acorn squash, pears, apple, banana, raspberry& strawberry(cooked,strained)...lemonade, cantaloupe...Avocado?(maybe), everything cooked There may be a couple more things she tolerates..but she won't eat it > What are her symptoms? > She has felt well since she quit school,I also removed tomato, started s. boulardii then...she has felt well for 2 +months and even has gained 3 pounds. Her stomach has been pretty bloated lately, and she seems to have a lot of little aches and pains lately(I think she is just having some die-Off) Since the introduction of bussel sprouts and cabbage(2 weeks now)..she has had some stomach issues, eczema, excessive gas, behaviour (could be die-off)...I am pulling these for now. > Has she had any improvement since being on the diet? Yes...honey, beets, beans, lemon is tolerated. Ezcema is gone.. Stomach is fine since she left school,(end of March) except for the latest introductions of food. L. acidophilus is tolerated now. I ran out of s.boulardii for a week recently and she started to get pretty darn silly until I started it up again. My son was silly too without the s.b. > Thanks so much, Cathy Mom to (7) and (10)-celiac scd since aug 2006 > > > << My daughter has been scd since august 2006, it has taken her > months > > just to tolerate the L. acidophilus capsule well. > > She has been taking 3 billion cfu of the Kirkmans L. acidophilus > daily > for a little more than a month now. She is also taking s. > boulardii(1 > capsule daily.3 bil cfu's) for 2 months + now. She > does not tolerate > the goats yogurt yet. Still intolerant to lots > ie. no eggs, no nut > butters..etc. > > Would it be helpful to increase the L. acidophilus? I don't think I'd increase the L. acidophilus ..at least not right now, but it sounds likes the S. boulardii is helping.
