Thank you for maintaining the Surgery and Medical Appointment Reminder. This has

been so helpful to be reminded of these important dates.

I want to encourage anyone who has scheduled surgery, out-patient procedure, or

a doctor's appointment out of town to send an email with the information to

at dceward@....

To assist Hospital Visitation volunteers, please include the surgery or

appointment time, as well as physical address.

To assist the delivery of cards, please include the mailing address.

To assist the Telephone Support Network volunteers, please include the main

telephone number.

If you are comfortable in doing so, let us know what surgery you will be having,

ie: TP/ICT, Puestow, etc. It is also very helpful to know your first and last

name. [i often find myself explaining to the nurse that I was there to visit a

member of the PAI having pancreatic surgery. When asked what their name was or

where they were from, I am left to say, " Well, um, there screen name is ....â€

The staff at Indiana University Medical Center are very helpful, but even this

is a challenge.]
