Guest guest
Is anyone who has a child with a neurological condition INTENTIONALLY doing a low carb SCD diet and having good results? I looked back over my food journal and found that my son's best days were the days when (in addition to no fruit) he passed on most of his vegetables because he didn't like the way I prepared them. That means he ate mostly meat all day & had very good days (cognitively). This low carb discussion and mention of ketogenic diet got me curious (ie: got me googling), and I found mention of a rat study that was intended to find out if the keto diet was in anyway harmful. The health of the rats was not found to be harmed in anyway from the low carb diet, and they showed better cognitive skills than the rats on the more balanced diet (ie: they remembered the maze pattern faster). So I am curious if anyone has noticed better cognitive abilities in your children when they ate low carb SCD? Or for those who switched from the keto diet -- are you doing low carb SCD? - --------------------------------- Shape Yahoo! in your own image. Join our Network Research Panel today!
