Guest guest
Hi Tim, I'm so sorry you have a daughter with this disease. I have been dignosed with HP. I had my first bad attack at the age of 5 and am now 59! I had bad attacks once or twice a year throughout my childhood, adolescence and younger adulthood. Fierce abdominal pain and in the back but no other symptoms. I had no diagnosis. In my 30's I began having symptoms of malabsorption, lower abdominal pain, weight loss, terrible diarrhoea etc. etc. I was diagnosed as having coeliac disease in 1988, and I do have that condition, but two years ago I got my final diagnosis of advanced pancreatitis following a CT scan which showed calcifications throughout the pancreas and atrophy. I am not yet diabetic but expected to be so soon. My current regime of Creon, low fat and no alcohol has certainly helped my symptoms. My mother also had pancreatitis. I do wish you success with treatment for your daughter. It is always especially distressing to see your child ill. Happy to talk at any time, Fliss (UK)
