Guest guest
Yes Heidi, that is exactly what I am trying to say, when I went to fill the Creon & oxycotin 40mg....they would pay only $10.00, and they had quoted I would pay 20% of the price on brand names! So they will pay $12.00 for any generic, but what can I do to equal my dosage of one 40mg Oxycotin? I took 3 oxycodone 10mg/325mg tylenol, every 4-6 hours & then added a few over the day of the straight IR 5's. It was okay, but nothing like the Oxy 40. My sister in law is in Florida & they Humana Gold Plus seems to pay differently. It varies from state to state & is based more or less on bigger populations (get a better deal cause more paying in)! We are visiting family near Tampa & will find out more then with the possiible idea of moving but since my husband is uninsurable & self-employed he would be forced to try to get disabiliity before he can get any insurance, Humana or otherwise! So it is a big dilema. We may be stuck here just because of this. Who will pay $300 per month for Zocor, any statins, none are generic & Norvasc, also not generic......he's a heart patient, remember, by- pass & new mitral valve, and he's still only 59 years old! Do you know of anything else I can take or ask my doc for that is generic, I read about the generic fentayal patch, and it does not sound good. I can up the dose on the oxycodone 10's but then will be getting too much tylenol, which is why I switched to the Oxycotin to begin with. Do you realize that 80 mg. of Oxycotin are generic?? But I don't want to go on something I don't need yet. I can probably get back on my husband's policy, Carolina Care PLan, which paid 12-20 dollars for any drug, but then we will have to stay here until reaches retirement age or one of us drops dead! All this going on with my 92 year old bedridden Mom that needs to go into a nursing home( who lives in St. Louis) but says she will slit her wrists 1st! And the caretaker wants out too! What a pickle!! And then my siste in Tucson, who's hubby died on Valentines Day & has almost as much bone pain as me. It's all one big Raspberry lately & I don't need the stress. Let me know if u have any suggestions re the generics? The Humana may be different where you live, it goes by the zipcode & you are close to some big populations like Savannah & Hilton Head. So that's the story girl, love in ton
Guest guest
, Have you tried getting patient assistance for your medication. I am a sponser for " Bridges to Access " for a patient at our office. She is on a fixed income and was not able to pay for her medication and I filled out an application (the Dr. office has to do this) for her and had the dr. sign. It didn't take very long for her to be approved. I have Humana Ins also but I only pay a co-pay for meds, anyway go to the Humana website WWW.myhumana.com and under I think it is pharmacy tool is information on patient assistance for medication. I hope this helps. Patty Duley, Corydon, IN _____
