Guest guest
Hi . Alot of people have had a great deal of success with stenting and some have not. Some relief has only been temporary. The purpose of the stent is to stretch out the duct and sphincter as well as allow the enzymes to drain. It is generaly not advisable to allow it to stay in any longer then a few weeks to a few months as scar tissue may delevelop then. It is hoped that after removing the stent the duct will remain in the streched out position. Sometimes it takes a few stents to achieve this goal. Hopefully, if there had not been any damage to the tissue of the pancreas itself, stenting may be all you need to have relief from pain and be able to return to work. I will hope and pray that is the case for you. Warmly,
