Hi Betty:

The German food probly did it. I notice certain foods do that to me also. I

read on here that someone suggested to take zinc capsules or tablets for the

gas. You might want to look into it or ask your dr.

Yesterday was 2 months since my surgery. I feel really good except

for this dammmmm gas. I think for one, milk causes it and I switched

to Lactate Free milk. That seemed to help but it is not as good as

regular milk so I don't drink as much. But yesterday and today, with

no milk in a couple days, I am so gassy that I must stay in the house

alone. Maybe it is that I ate in a German restaurant in Lake Lure or

Chimney Rock yesterday. Knockwurst, bratwurst, sauerkraut, etc. Yum.

I was 233 at clinic before surgery. I am now 203. I have been below

210 for about a month now. Slow but I sure hope sure. My waist

measurement was 45 " at clinic and is STILL 45 " . I have lost a lot in

legs, arms, neck and even feet and hands. But nothing in my waist.

Wish me luck that I won't look like a beach ball with sticks for legs

and arms some day.

I feel ok. My blood sugar is hovering between 85 and 90. It was

about 350 before the surgery and I am taking no meds, nor am I

particulary watching my diet for diabetes purposes. I also have had

NO reflux or indigestion. No nausea since surgery. Just gas and gas

and gas and gas.

I feel dirty reading some of the posts on the other lists. Some

people just don't have a life if all they want to do is see how ugly

and belligerant (sp) they can be and keep SOMETHING stirred up.

I do not know as yet if I will be at the Christmas party, but that

would be such a wonderful time to see you guys in person. When I was

in Durham for surgery, I didn't even get to know my littermates since

I was so ill.

Good luck to all you pre-ops on your wonderful journey.

Betty in Western NC

I have the utmost of respect for Dr. R.

Betty Betty Betty!!

Blood sugar hovering between 85 and 90!! How

wonderful!! That alone is worth the surgery. I can't

wait to have normal blood sugar. I am sure the other

part will happen for you. You are having good weight

loss, too.

Congratulations!! You go girl!!!

Keep telling us, Betty. I love it when you post. And I am in your sister in

GAS. Sheesh. If I could just hold these arms up long enough, I bet I could

become airborne!! And Funky! Sheesh! I wanna leave when I'm in the room!

Fortunately, it's only one time of the day, usually, so I ligth a bunch of

candles at the first sign, and keep those babies fired up until my tummy

quiets back down. Sure hope this is gone at the same time as my weight is

mostly gone, or there'll be no man in my future except an ex-fighter or

football player whose had his nose broken so many times it no longer

works!!!!

Anyhow, Betty. Love to hear your updates. Slow and steady is fine! Fondly,

PhillyJude

You guys are too funny... Picture this. I work for an airline and I am a gate

agent. You know the one you give a hard time when you are in a middle seat,

or the flight is delayed or cancelled....this is OF COURSE all my fault.

Anyways, now I can get back at all the annoying passengers. Can't wait for

the GAS...then I can look around and say....OMG who did that???? YEAH!!!!

For once it will be really fun to work in a real public place!!!! ROFLMAO

Hey Pam, 49 lbs in 2 months is wonderful. How are you feeling? I am 4

days behind you (9/29) and I am so glad I had this done. Good for you.
