Guest guest
, Hi my name is Patty and I have had multiple stents. None of mine have been in longer than 6 weeks. I'm surprised that your dr. has not scheduled another ERCP to remove it. I know some are suppose to pass on their own but my 1st did not. The subsequent ones I had were July, Aug, Sept, and October. I had them changed every 4 weeks. The stents did work for 4 months but then I had another attack. In May I had the nerves to pancreas cut and have gotten off my Oxycontin and now just take ibuprofen. I don't know how long it will last but the surgeon said out of the 50 pts he has done this surgery on NOT one got off the oxycontin completely. I had to laugh at him because he said I got one of the best nerve block surgeries he has done. He said I had Great Anatomy. I was like WHAT!!!! He said he ment that my insides looked good and he was able to get to the nerves and see them clearly to cut. I had to laugh. I hope this info helps.
