Guest guest
, Yes, you are right on all counts, which is why this is a frustrating and dehumanizing experience for practically ALL of us! The inexperience of clinicians et al. can only lead us straight to a specialist ans we all know how we have to fight like hell to get one. Healthcare is like computer technical support. They try to frustrate you in the quest for the solution to a problem (no matter how ultimately trivial) so that you will finally just " give up " and leave them alone. It seems to me that this is an expensive disease and it would be cheaper for HMO's etc. to let us die rather than give us on iota of relief, hope, or treatment. When I learned that a neighbor of my mother's whom I know got Fentanyl patches for " thumb pain " on the first go round and it took me over 9 years for them to dare to consider it as a part of my treatment for horrible and chronic pain, it just made me sick. The medical " practitioners " have no perspective or sense about pain and the terrible pain that we have to go through with pancreatitis. From us you will learn how to fight for what you SHOULD have rather than what they WANT TO GIVE you. We are here for that. And still, this silliness goes on and on.
