For anyone who is interested...and we all should be. There is a web site

that we should all be checking out.

www.vitalady.com

This website is created by a woman who had an RNY in 1994. She is totally

into nutrician and protein supplements. She counsels patients of WLS at no

charge, although she does sell supplements. I am on another list and most of

those on the list buy the protein she sells. She also says it is very hard

for a bypass person to absorb B12 and suggests a small tablet you put under

your tongue. She just happens to live about 25 minutes from me and I hope to

meet with her next week. She said it is good to start to take extra protein

prior to surgery as it will help the healing. I plan to do that. Will let

you all know what I find out.

Thanks Joni I put that info in my filing cabinet, I am almost done with the

requirements for the insurance company. I am going to get my head examined

tommorrow afternoon and as soon as I get that report it will take the

insurance company 48 hours to resppond.

Gwen baby I feel your pain...I was having the same problem. First of

all, I spent the money to get the creatine in liquid form and I just

add it to my citrucel. I asked the doctor about the supplements

before I left. I think the problem is too much powder to a small

ratio of yogurt. He said we could probably not worry about those two

until we are able to eat more. He said we came to him well nourished

and until we have been on this liquid diet a little longer we are

probably ok to pass on it for awhile. I really could not gag it

down. In fact, just thinking about it makes me sick.

I bought some ensure LIGHT and tried it once and seemed to tolerate

it ok. I may try that to get some extra protein for awhile.

Otherwise, my suggestion is to actually blend it with juice and

yogurt and make a shake and take all day to drink it if you have to.

Hope that helps.
