Guest guest
Don't people have trouble with yeast coming back after they have used nystatin? I don't know why that would happen, but seems like i have read it several times. It seems that if you start off with a GOOD multi-strain probiotic prior to the nystatin, then you would have enough of the good stuff in the gut to take over the area that the yeast is leaving. What do you guys think. I am tempted to try nystatin, because my DAN really thinks my son has yeast issues, but if the yeast will only come back, I don't want to waist my time. I think it had a generic name but it was the same thing. It was much better than the other over the counter medicines. ummrumaisa wrote: can we buy nystatin without prescription? I asked my dr to give it to my son but she said he didnt have thrush so she wouldnt and im sure candida is a problem for him. --------------------------------- Choose the right car based on your needs. Guest guest
Have you tried a combo of natural antifungals with Candex? We did that, and it looks like the yeast is gone now. We'll go over the labs in a week or so, but the signs that I was seeing at home...burping, gas, ect...are gone. We did a rotation of grapefruit seed extract, oil of oregano, and olive leaf extract in the mornings. I guess we probably rotated these every couple of weeks. You can't give probiotics near that time or the Candex. Then, I'd give him his probiotics, Candex, and some yogurt at night before bed. It took a couple of weeks before those signs of yeast were totally gone, and we kept up the regiment for another couple of weeks after that. We ran out of Candex, and I haven't bought more. We're still doing the natural antifungals to keep any yeast at bay...just in case. Meleah Re: nystatin- has anyone had success with it- I am considering it - should I? Guest guest
Meleah, How do you administer the drops?...put them in capsules, mix in liquid?? Do you have any brands you could recommend for olive leaf extract or grapefruit seed extract? Thanks. Rhonda ----- Original Message ----- | Have you tried a combo of natural antifungals with Candex? Guest guest
My olive leaf, grapefruit seed, and oregano are all in liquid form. I put three drops of which ever one I am using that day in his morning drink. You could also put the drops in applesauce, yogurt, ect. My oil of oregano is NOW brand. My olive leaf extract is just GNC brand. I can't remember what brand the grapefruit seed extract is, but I've heard a lot of people recommend Mountain Herbs(or something like that) for the GSE. Really, the biggest thing is to read the ingredient list to make sure there are no hidden illegals. The extracts are going to have alcohol as an ingredient, but watch for starches and sugars. Guest guest
Hi Becky, << Don't people have trouble with yeast coming back after they have used nystatin? I don't know why that would happen, but seems like i have read it several times.>> I was unable to use nystatin (made me stomach sick), but found that rotated natural antifungals combined with a yeast enzyme was very effective for me. I used oil of oregano, carrot & garlic juice, GSE, candex and candizyme. Now I take S. boulardii daily. http://www.pecanbread.com/new/yeastsheila.html Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23 yrs mom of and
