Guest guest
Hi , I couldn't help commenting on your history that is similar to mine. It was a burst ovarian cyst that (indirectly) caused my pancreatitis. The sequence was that I had a burst cyst which twisted the ovary causing it to become necrotic. I had an emergency surgery to remove my left ovary and fallopian tube and to remove another large cyst on my right ovary. This emergency surgery lead to peritonitis from a massive abdominal infection which my first surgeon refused to acknowledge (post - surgical infections of this kind are indicative of a sloppy surgeon I guess) so I ended up critically ill and having to undergo a second emergency surgery 4 weeks later. During this surgery, my pancreas was somehow harmed (no one knows or will admit how it happened) and caused me to have chronic pancreatitis. So.......although there is not a direct cause and effect between ovarian cysts and pancreatitis, there is a type of association. I call it the repercussions of a bad surgeon......... laurie
