Hi Becky,

I am not sure why agave is illegal.

Agave has saponins and fructans. Inulin is a type of fructan that is illegal.

Maybe the reason is that it is similar to inulin.

We all learned the hard way that Elaine is always right. LOL

If honey feeds yeast and my son has yeast problems along with fruit, I am at a

loss for what to use as a sweetner?

Hi Becky,

Agave contains inulin, which is illegal. Inulin is an indigestible

polysaccharide which will feed the " nasties " .

Hi Becky,

Elaine suggested that honey only be reduced to 75% in recipes if you

have yeast. As for fruit: some with yeast find that peeling and

cooking the fruit & limiting it to small portions over the day help

prevent it from feeding the yeast.

I was unable to tolerate some fruits but was okay with others. For

example homemade applesauce and ripe banana didn't work to well when

the yeast was very bad but I was okay with very ripe red bananas and

as yeast improved some a little regular ripe yellow banana.

Saccharine is a legal sweetener. I use Hermesetas brand (sodium

saccharine).
