Guest guest
Sonja, Not to scare you, but I had dryness in my mouth, when I ate it felt like I was trying to chew cardboard or straw, and my membranes were also swollen. Of course, couldn't eat fat, protein or red meat without pain. My sugars were too low or too high, blurred vision, etc.....what we spoke of before. My first GI said it was too soon to test for diabetes, after my having CP for only 16 months... He was wrong. The dryness in my mouth and other symptoms caused the GI to diagnose me with " bacterial overgrowth " and put me on heavy antibiotics. Two weeks later I was in the hospital with diabetic ketoacidosis...type I diabetes. What they are talking about is bacterial overgrowth, it is a real condition, but I didn't have bacterial overgrowth, what I had was diabetes, plain and simple! I have been down that path with this doctor that your doctor is now trying to lead you to. Good luck, dear woman, you will need it to convince these people! I don't understand why they think too high or too low is acceptable or normal when you eat so frugally, if at all? I sit here shaking my head in wonderment. After the tests, if you can even get through the tests, please let me know what they've learned, and what they tell you. I'm very worried for you, you need to take careful care of yourself. Write to me offline at: hhessgriffeth@... if you want to talk more... you can teach me how to say more than " Hej " so I can surprise my brother, that's all I know now.
