Guest guest
Hi SamT, As an semi-educated guess, at this time I am wondering if there is any relationship between the characteristics of the cysts which lead to surgery....or if there is a common denominator between the complications from the surgery itself. I am thinking of the complications aspect because I know that there are a lot of woman who have gyn surgery that don't end up with pancreaitis problems. It would be interesting to know too if there is any association between post-op complications and chronic pancreatitis when the original surgery involved somewhat major abdominal / pelvic surgery. At the same time, it would be interesting to know if there is an association between cyst rupture, with the subsequent peritonitis that usually develops and chronic pancreatitis.....or anything that leads to fluid accumulation with peritoneal irritation for that matter. Not sure if anyone has ever looked at this. I know that the big researchy thing is how to prevent adhesions. My good surgeon said that if he came up with the magic medicine or device to prevent abdominal adhesions he would be a billionaire over night...........
