Guest guest
Due do my situation ongoing right now trying to find out exactly what is going on with me, I have been on promethazine (aka phenergan 25 mg) suppositories every 6 hours just to be able to keep my lovely chicken broth on my stomach. I have tried to go longer without it each day; however, my body will not allow it. I have tried the mind over matter thing and it does not work to my advantage in this situation. And this medicine does give me any type of " high " or make me sleepy, because I guess I have been on it way to long now. My pain med's (Lortab 5) is what I try to avoid taking unless I get to the point I cannot stand the pain any longer. As much as I have been " butting " heads with my surgeon (see my previous post) he does give my med's to me without any type of argument. Guest guest
Hi , Just a comment of a personal observation. I'm also taking Loritab (7.5) and I've found that I'm much more successful in controlling pain and Panc. caused ill feeling if I can guess correctly and take the Loritab at or even before the onset of a Panc, caused episode. I've found it to be much more effective to anticipate an episode rather than react to a condition that has already developed. Of course this likely leads me to take a Loritab sometimes when I might not need to take one but the benefit of anticipation and getting " ahead " of a Panc. attack outweighs the problems of taking a few extra analgesics. As I said, just my personal observation. FYI I've also found that staying very well hydrated at all possible times helps also. It can't hurt, it's cheap, it's easy and I think it works well. Try it and let us know how it works. Best Wishes, Poncho - GA
Guest guest
I found the same thing. I had been taking Phenergan for 3 months around the clock every day with my sorst bout of CP I'd ever had. When I got home from hospital, I went through withdrawal symptoms and they were the worst. Thought it was the pain meds, but back on the pain meds I still suffered. That was when I realised it was the Phenergan. I can now handle a single dose at a time, but not more than 3 times in a few days.
