Guest guest
I felt safe to write that as they are bottom feeders and it is hard to see more than a few inches into Lake Michigan. I have no idea if there are even catfish there, but if they are, I am sure they are mutants. The great lakes are not the cleanest waters in the world, sad to say.........But 15 y/o human mutants have to be loads more fun to hang out with! LOL! (poor kid). I am going to think long and hard about filing a complaint with the state medical board. I do not know why that had never crossed my mind. All that I was thinking of was the in-house complaint system or filing a lawsuit. The first, I started to do until I got pressure from the higher ups about not putting my job in jeopardy....and the lawsuit thing I thought, in my instance, not appropriate. I thought that those were my only two options. I think I will investigate and see if there is a web site that explains the process and see if what I experienced would fit the criteria for legitimate complaint. I know that I feel strongly that what she did has to be made known to who-ever oversees physician behaviour. I understand legitimate human error and am quick to forgive that....but when it is down right mistreatment due to laziness, deliberate arrogance or personality conflct or other unprofessional behaviour than I think it needs to be documented. I am sorry about the incident with your father.....and your mother having to deal with the emotional toll. I can understand that she was reluctant to pursue a legal fight as sometimes they put the accuser on trial and try to blame the victim. Not a fun thing to go through when you are grieving. That is all you need....some greedy corporate lawyer trying to make your family feel guilty because of an error by a trusted family doctor. Like it is our fault for picking out a " bad " doctor.......Sadly, negligence that directly results in death isn't as rare as people think. A neighbor of a friend recently passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage after a fall when she was discharged from an ER even though she was on fairly high levels of coumadin......and they didn't even do anykind of CT or MRI work-up. Just told her to take NSAIDs for her headache.......a sad case. She died that night I think. Not sure of all the details but it seems to be a clear case of " OOPS " . I had to re-read your beach scene again as we have lost our summer. Today it turned cold - low 60s upper 50s and dark gloomy sky. Not even getting any signifcant rain out of it (which we need desperately). It is suppose to be cold for the next few days then a slow warm-up by next week. So the shells and beach sand and even a dolphin or two will be welcome. I have an 4 x 8 foot pond, about two foot deep near my deck....the dolphin can live there until it freezes! LOL. We can put him next to the buffalo that my husband is waiting for......Supposedly there is a law on the books that if you own five or more acres of land, the government will give you a free buffalo. My husband wrote our senator telling him that we wanted ours. This was 7 years ago I think. We are still waiting.................too funny. (It must have been when the feds were encouraging homesteading or something). Thanks for the information about the complaint system. I think that this is something that I need to look into. At the least, it could be interesting to see if she has any other problems with patients. laurie
