Guest guest
I saw my docs on wednesday. The plastics guy pulled the drains (yeah) said that I looked like Iwas loosing weight and then told me to come back in 4 weeks, thats it. I then went back to see the same GI surgeon I have had all along. He didn;t like the way I looked, I could tell by how he looked at me even tho he wouldn't say it. I felt really lousy he said that everything looked good as far as my incision and what not but when I told him my sugars were too high he wondered why. Well today I talked with him because my morning fasting blood surgar was 288. Now it has been 7 months since I had the tp-ict and my sugars have been great until this last surgery the emergency one. Anyway he wants me to come in tomorrow for some blood work and another cat scan. I told him the last time he scanned me I ended up in the OR...LOL But I am really scared that my transplanted islets may have been damaged and that has me extrememly upset. I have been eating very little so as to not make them go up too much and have been taking a lot of insulin. Which I did neither before this last surgery. He said that he is concerned there might be an infection somewhere. I told him I dont have a fever and dont really feel that poorly to have an infection. Well anyway back to MUSC tomorrow for tests, here I go again. Hopefully it will be just stress and nothing more. Hey Angie, I might have to followup with on wed. What time is your appt, maybe we can meet afterrall. I haven't been feeling well and haven't been posting much but I do hope that everybody is doing well. Laurie what the heck are ya'll gonna do with a buffalo anyway???LOL Warmly,
Guest guest
, My appt. is at 1:30. I called them today because I had a bad attack yesterday and they said to call them if it happened again and they may want to see me on Monday. They said to go to the ER if it happened again and get some dilaudid shots and not try to deal with it alone with oxycodone. I told her I would rather be shot in the head than go to the ER but I would do it if I had to. She also said to call if I ran out of pain meds. I didn't want them to think I was abusing my pain meds and running out that I had a legit reason for using more than normal. She said not to worry. Anyway, I hope your tests go well. I know you have been through alot. Your body is going to take a while to recover from all you have been through in such a short time. My prayers and thoughts are with you!
