Guest guest
OK. I had my two year old do the intro diet yesterday. He is sort of SCD. I mean that I don't give him grains and sugars anymore due to it causing his eczema to flare up. I never have totally gone through the stages of pealing and cooking all fruits and veggies for him like I did with iel though. Of course, was only one year old when iel started SCD, so he was eating all pealed and cooked produce at that time, but he was still eating grains and stuff then, too. I just figured out the grain and sugar connection with his eczema in the past couple of months, and removed them. But, I never went back to intro diet and started progressing through the stages to see what kind of effect that would have. Anyway, back to today. I had do the intro diet yesterday. Today, he had eggs, an almond flour biscuit, crisply fried bacon, diluted grape juice, cooked carrots, roasted chicken, and an apple(whole and raw). I just changed a poopy diaper, and the stool was very nicely formed. It was slightly orange though...not carrot orange, but definitely carrot tinted. There were no undigested pieces of food in the stool though. He hadn't had a bowel movement since Thursday or Friday(can't remember which day). Anyway, should I assume that he didn't digest the cooked carrots well, or should I just assume that for some reason the carrot color came through the stool because he perhaps ate so many or some other reason? If his stools become loose or much more frequent that *might* be a cause for concern. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23 yrs mom of and
