Guest guest
Hi , Thank you very much for your report about Just Pomegranate juice and VSL#3. Yesterday, I put a warning about VSL#3 on www.pecanbread.com http://www.pecanbread.com/new/probiotics1.html May I use your comments to add to it? Guest guest
Maybe some milk intolerance to the VS#3??? The manufacturer said it was not dairy free???? --- pecan post wrote: > Hi , > > Thank you very much for your report about Just > Pomegranate juice and VSL#3. > Yesterday, I put a warning about VSL#3 on > www.pecanbread.com > http://www.pecanbread.com/new/probiotics1.html > > May I use your comments to add to it? > > Mimi > > > I allowed my son 1/2 Just Pomegranete and 1/2 > water a few times. Guest guest
Yes, that is fine to use what I wrote. I do not think that VSL #3 is " bad " because I am sure it has helped many people. I just know that with my son he is reacting to any carb I give him now and it is because of toxins being released in his gut which has to be from a bacterial overgrowth. Also, the activated charcoal makes a marked difference in his behavior within an hour or an hour and a half which means it has to be toxins. Also, I just took him right off of it. I have heard to ween him off the VSL #3 but I just couldn't do it anymore once I realized what was happening. That is where the activated charcoal and the epsom baths and epsom lotions are helping a lot. Thanks, Hinojosa, mother to Benito, 3.5, SCD since 2/14/07 > > Hi , > > Thank you very much for your report about Just Pomegranate juice and VSL#3. > Yesterday, I put a warning about VSL#3 on www.pecanbread.com > http://www.pecanbread.com/new/probiotics1.html > > May I use your comments to add to it? > > Mimi > > > I allowed my son 1/2 Just Pomegranete and 1/2 water a few times. Guest guest
Yes, I saw that is was a non dairy product but not dairy free. I thought that was odd. The manufacturer says that there is no dairy but they have to say it has dairy because they used dairy to make it. At first Benito did GREAT on the VSL #3, for about 2 months, his stools improved and behavior but all of a sudden he was getting circles under his eyes, acting intoxicated, huge tantrums. He also began to react to everything as if from a salicylate reaction. So I started noting what foods and it was always between 20 minutes and 1.5 hours that he would react to it. Then he started reacting to things that have virtually no salicylates in them, like eggs. That is when I began to look into the bifidus and realized that they are colonizers and that one particular strain, bacillus infantilis is not necessary in adults and can cause problems. The strain is necessary for infants and young children but then is not necessary after that. Don't get me wrong...actually I really like VSL #3 and I think it is great. My son just doesn't need that particular strain bacillus infantilis and reacts to it. My husband has had foot fungus, the awful kind under his toe nails and then this awful scabby, skin peeling rash started on his big toe and ankels. I started him on the VSL #3 because I knew he had gut problems and felt candida was the culprit. Within 2 weeks his toe fungus is nearly GONE!! This is amazing considering nothing else has worked!! My husband is not on SCD and probably never will so I feel the VSL #3 is great for him for now. Guest guest
Hi. That toenail fungus -- the awful kind under the nail -- that's what I wrote yesterday has nearly cleared up for me just by eating the 24 hour yogurt and following SCD rather loosely in my case -- and I have not been taking probiotics. So I think the 24 hour yogurt, if prepared correctly, is very powerful. Bear in mind that doctors tell you if you want to get rid of the toenail fungus using antifungal meds, you have to take them for a year to be effective! Yay, SCD! Just think if my toenails look that much better, how much this is helping my gut and most of all, my son's! He's talking better -- he also had IVIG this month, which has helped the talking.
