Guest guest
I've tried searching the archives here and haven't found what I'm looking for. I recall a recent post (from Mimi maybe?) about journal articles referencing SCD and other " hard science " supporting it. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'd love some help finding that post. A general IBD list I'm on has a " diet-basher " on it, and I would love to be able to show some of the work that's been done. A medline search I did was kind of sparse (I did recommend on the list that people check out the first half of BTVC). The Pecanbread " Science " section is not what I'm looking for... Thanks, Ellen

Guest guest
Hi Ellen - You are unlikely to get anything that says, 'SCD cures autism' or, 'bacteria cause autism'. Luckily, none of those things has to be true for SCD to help a child. There are, however, articles indicating bacterial imbalances in the autistic population as compared to normal controls. And starving bacteria is what SCD is all above. In the end, however, every child is different. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSear\ ch=10921511&ordinalpos=4&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.\ Pubmed_RVDocSum - shows improvement after use of broad spectrum anti biotic. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSear\ ch=16157555&ordinalpos=11&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel\ ..Pubmed_RVDocSum http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSear\ ch=15528506&ordinalpos=17&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel\ ..Pubmed_RVDocSum - shows different levels of clostridia in autistics http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSear\ ch=12173102&ordinalpos=1&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.\ Pubmed_RVAbstractPlus - several different bacteria populations in autistics versus controls Take care - brian ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Luggage?
