Guest guest
Even though I lived in Suffolk, my son attended Variety Childrens Learning Center (VCLC) in Syosset. It is off of Jericho Turnpike. It was the best decision I have made. The school is very state of the art and the teachers and therapists were great. He attended there from age 2 1/2 till age 5. Please check them out. My son is 8 now and is mainstreamed for 1/2 the day and is doing great. I attribute a lot of his growth to early intervention and to this preschool/ Kindergarten. My son received P/T, O/T and speech and had sensory issues, no speech till age 4, low muscle tone, motor planning issues along with many other issues. Check out their website _www.vclc.org_ (http://www.vclc.org) Lori In a message dated 2/19/2008 6:17:12 P.M. He has also been diagnosed in September with PDD-NOS, has overall motor planning problems, low muscle tone and sensory issues. All his therapist and the psychologist agree that in September (he'll be 3 in few months) we should send him to a good full time language rich special ed preschool. We live on Long Island in Nassau County. I visited few schools already and most of hem claim they are language based preschools. When I ask what it means some can answer others not. Anyway can anyone recommend a good preschool on Long Island for kids with appraxia? Thanks, Nati **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living.
