Guest guest
I guess I will put this subject to rest, both on this board and in my mind. I think you have pretty much supported my logical contention that there really is no way that I could have carried the infection with my for five years. In my case the seeding was the surgery from the first surgery...from the cut itself. The flora that was cultured was normal skin, not anything from the GI tract that would suggest a ruptured viscus. So my thought wasn't so much as having it innoculated from an ongoing internal process but from the original exposure from the surgeon with bad technique. I was imagining that the second surgeon wasn't able to get it all out and that the residual somehow became walled off and under control, and only " leaked " at times when my immune system wasn't able to keep it in check. But.....I really think that this thought is science-fiction. Or just plain fiction, without a shred of science in it.....LOL. I guess too what I meant about a " cure " was not so much that eliminating the infection would fix my pancreatitis problems per se....but that maybe all of my feeling sick isn't my pancreas after all (that all the skeptics are right that pancreas divisum has no pathology) and that once the infection is gone, I would be cured. That is, my pancreas isn't part of the problem at all....that I am just not fully recovered from the surgery. I know, wishful thinking and another aspect of how much I will stretch logic to feed my denial. But as far as pancreatitis and an immune response...I think that it stimulates an inflammatory response but not necessarily an immune response....an immune response needs to have an antigen to drive the antibody and T-cell reaction, etc. That would be the process in auto-immune pancreatitis or infectious pancreatitis...but not " simple " inflammatory pancreatitis. Inflammation is part of the immune response but immune response is not always part of the inflammatory process Confusing but the simple thing to remember is that immune response is how our body reacts to " foreign invasion " (auto-antibodies see its body as foreign) but inflammation is just a reaction to cell death - which can be sterile (no pathogens involved).Oh well, you don't need me to tell you this, I guess I am just trying to think out loud......... Our weather if finally returning to summer. Is suppose to be in the 80s today, 90s tomorrow and 100 or more by Friday!!!!! I am happy about this. But the very bad thing is that we have had hardly any rain in the last few months and we are in a pretty significant drought. I have been hauling water almost constantly during my free time - I even got up an hour early this morning to haul 50 gallons or more to our " farm " . If it doesn't rain soon. we will lose everything. I just cannot water by hand an acre of sweet corn, tomatoes, pumpkins, cukes peppers, trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, etc. But I always think I can hear their cries for water, water, water. So I am like that dunkin donut guy...but instead of " gotta bake the donuts " it is " gotta water the plants.... " lol. The buffalo? I am not sure what he was planning on doing with him. Maybe use it as a natural lawn-mower? Train it as a pet? He was never very clear on that part of the situation...........He still laments at times, that Herb Kohl never got back to him....... (my husband has issues LOL!!!) Hope you are doing well and feeling better. Thanks for your input. I really think my imagination has run wild in this area...but in my defense.....I really want to find a way to make this all just go away once and for all, forever and ever and eternally (how's that for emphatic redundancy?)
