Guest guest
We've been on a journey to heal my sons gut issues for two years. Major symptoms were behavior, lack of self-control, overly emotional, constipation and tummy aches. We did IgG testing 6 months ago and elimanated all the foods he was sensitive to. We've also been rotating the remaining foods every 3 days. We are GFCF as well. We are now symptom free and he is doing very well but I hate having so many food restrictions. I'm hoping that SCD will help us add back in some wonderfully nutritious foods that we've been missing. Do you think it's necessary to start with the indroduction diet? We can't do eggs so I'm not sure how to make the intro diet work. Is there anyone out there that has a similar experience who could help me get started? Thanks in advance,

The intro diet is only for two to three days although a very few need it for five days. You can do it egg free using the soup, meat, juice etc. It really " clears the decks " as far as preparing the gut for a major transition. SCD contains so many wonderful foods and has great recipes. Not to discourage you, but after seven years on SCD, being celiac, I have taken back very few conventional restricted foods and then only on rare occasions. Sometimes I am fine but at others, get a flare so don't find this worthwhile. On the other hand. I have come to love and prefer SCD food. However, I don't speak for everyone. Many who have been symptom free for ome year have been able to have foods they gave up but most opt not to return to the Standard American Diet which used to be so top heavy with grains and starches. Usually our objective is to get healed and getting back the old foods secondary. Still, most people are curious and interested in this. Carol F.
