Guest guest
Hi all, Just want to know if anybody has ever heard about bifidus with human bacteria? I just spoke to a progurt company in Australia and he claimed that the illegal bifidus SCD talks about - are from good animal bacteria but his product is from good human bacteria? and won't do any harm to human body, and it is the best that human can get. Just want to confirm this with someone if this is true, as it is way easier& cheaper for me to get it from Australia & NZ than import it from US or Canada. Thanks Leena Clarice Belle, 2y 10 mths, ASD

This is a very good question and I hope someone witha scientific background will have the answer. On the humorous side, I guess I am relieved to be singled out as a non animal LOL. The other day I made a comment about Burdon (rock group " The Animals " but I should have said Clapton (from " Cream " ) Got my meat and dairy mixed up. Howevr, I am thinking that if what you suspect is true, why haven't the North American biologists tapped into this? Maybe we should ask the scientists at Progurt (GI Health) . I will email them today. Carol F. SCD 7 years, celiac

Genus species)? How did he know which of the bifidum strains were illegal? Negative reports have come in for a variety of bifidum species. I think the problem SCDers have with Bifidum bacteria may be a characteristic of the Genus. Guest guest
Hi Carol, Any luck so far with the email? By the way, I have asked them if the progurt is made of breast milk, their answer is no. It's taken from human faeces (yuucckkk. Me & my daughter tried 2 sachets but we didn't continue to buy as they are quite expensive NZ$20 per sachet (USD 16) to make 1 quart of yogurt. But if it's proved ok, then I won't hesitate to use them. The inventor said he could guarantee my DD will be well in one year time combining with SCD. A Very Strong Promise!!! Guest guest
Leena, The probiotic we had always used prior to SCD is also derived this way (human strains). It's made in Europe. Is it potentially legal? I remember when you brought this up before and I never saw an answer. - claricebellemum wrote: Hi Carol, Any luck so far with the email? Guest guest
Hi , That's what I need to know as well. I hope some experts with the proper knowledge somewhere out there could give advise or opinion about this stuff. Guest guest
Hi Leena, According to Elaine's research, bifidus overgrowth was likely to be present in those suffering from various bowel afflictions. Adding any bifidus derivative is risky, because it could potentially worsen an existing overgrowth problem. It's like adding more fuel to the fire. Please refer to the following link: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/bifidus.htm According to Elaine: " I, personally, do not believe in using bifidis in a probiotic or in a yoghurt culture.
