Guest guest
My 2 Autistic boys started SCD about 2 years ago, one terribly constipated and the other with terrible runny and stinky stools. After about a year, their stools were normal. About 4 months ago, I started them on rice again and their stools remain normal. Is it safe to keep doing this? If their food is apparently digesting okay, is there any reason why I shouldn't give rice? Also, we don't cook any of our fruit anymore. Please let me know if I should not do this and for what reason? Also, I have never gone the yogurt route. Our kids are still exhibiting major autistic behaviors, however. They are doing well in their 40 hr. per week CARD ABA program, the youngest one has been chelating with TD-DMPS for over a year and the oldest has seizures still after 5 years with NO help from anticonvulants. So, here we are...should I change anything in their diet now that I have their digestive habits maintained? Thank you for any ideas! Guest guest
Which anticonvulsants is he taking? If he has seizures, he should be evaluated for Landau-Kleffner Syndrome and in fact, both kids should have EEGs if they haven't already. Most kids with LKS need anti-inflammatories to address the underlying conditions. SCD diet seems to help too as it seems to be good for anyone with auto-immune and/or inflammatory conditions.
