Guest guest
Hi , I live in Centerville, Ohio, and have been to IU so many times I have lost count. I have had ERCP with stent placement numerous times. The doc I see at IU is Dr. Evan Fogel. I hope he is not the " one " that screwed up Kim (?). There is a special x-ray that needs to be taken to see if the stent has passed. If it has not, it needs to be removed as it can cause lots of problems. They are not meant to stay in. I have always gotten a prescription from Dr. Fogel that has the type of x-ray written on it that is to be done 2 weeks after the stent was placed to see if it has passed or not. I just go to a Radiology department and give them the prescription and then my GI doc here in town checks it to see if the stent has passed or not. Unfortunately, I have never had a stent pass as it is " supposed to!!!!! " I am one of those 5% people!!! I then have to have an endoscopy to have them remove it. I have seen the films and it is very easy to see if the stent is there or not. It looks like a long wire with a little loop on the end. Anyway, I hope this helps. If you have any questions, etc., please don't hesitate to ask!! Thoughts and prayers to all!!! T. (Ohio) nancy@...
