Guest guest
Hi guys, I am having attacks again. I started last night. If it doesn't ease up I am going to the hospital in the morning. I have taken my oxycodone and it is letting up. I had surgery 2 weeks ago. I have pancreas divisum and had both ducts opened up. I had it done open procedure because I couldn't have the scope. My question is, should I call on Monday and ask Dr. Adam's about pain management or wait and see if it heals after 6 weeks before I expect better results from the surgery.? He said if I had more attacks to call so I am going to call on Monday. My local docs don't like to prescribe strong pain meds. I had a pity party today and cried a few times but now I am ready to fight again. I am tired of hurting and I am wanting relief no matter what it takes. Thanks for listening! Guest guest
Angie, I'm sorry that you've starting having problems again so soon after your surgery. By all means, call first thing in the morning and tell him how you've been feeling, and let him deal with this pain now as quickly as he can. Whether or not this medication would be what you would need after you've healed and are feeling better is immaterial right now. What you need to worry about right now is taking care of today and tomorrow's pain. It could be that in several weeks, what helps you now could end up being more than what you need for the long term. It's just too early to tell. Just work on one thing at a time until you're in a better state of health and can make a less desperate decision. I hope that he's able to prescibe just what you need to get through this bad spell and help to get you on your feet with a happy smile. Sleep well, and let us know what you learn tomorrow.
