Guest guest
Even though my son is older (14) he does not like the taste of the homemade yogurt. I love it and it has helped me so much. Any suggestions on how to get kids to like it? thanks, barb
Guest guest
I drip ours into " cream cheese. " (only way we can tolerate it) and then we sometimes spread it onto " pumpkin pie filling " (from the pecanbread.com recipes list). This makes it sort of like spreading cream cheese/icing on a pie. It tastes really good and my kids love it. Or you could maybe spread it on other things, like burgers (dripped goat yogurt tastes deliciousy cheesy this way!), fruit, SCD legal baked goods etc etc. We also do small amounts throughout the day (less than a tablespoon right now as that is all we can tolerate) rather than trying to get the kids to eat a larger amount all at once. Oh and btw, thank you to whoever suggested the pumpkin pie filling as a good snack when you can't do fruit or nut flours. It is a major hit around here (and we don't even put honey in it; I substituted a little vanilla instead). HTH! I'm interested to see other's suggestions. K Hashi's, Fibro, CFS, etc etc (mostly healed!) Kids: son Rhowan 5 yrs old, chronic diarrhea, ADHD behaviors, salicylate intolerance: daughter Willow 6.5 yrs old, salicylate intolerance SCD second try 1 month (haven't redone the intro diet yet) > > Even though my son is older (14) he does not like the taste of the > homemade yogurt. Guest guest
Oops, when I said we do less than a tablespoon, I meant each time we eat it. We usually have a little less than a tablespoon 2-3 times throughout the day spread onto some food, or sometimes just on a spoon. :-)
Guest guest
What does dripping it into cream cheese change? Aren't you gettng rid of whey when you do this? Sorry, I should introduce myself...I will give more info when I have time, but for now, I am doing the diet for myself. I am 39 and have CFS and FM if I don't rigidly control my diet. I used to have sort of an adult autism but I have gotten rid of most of those symptoms. Arlene > > > > Even though my son is older (14) he does not like the taste of the > > homemade yogurt.
