Guest guest
Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to reply when you are feeling so down. This also will pass, Chrissy! Believe me. I'll keep in touch. BTW, Jim's PSA is 0.2 which is not " undetectable " . 0.02 would be just fine! If only! However, he is feeling very well and we are just waiting to see how things develop. The remaining cells may be local and open to radiotherapy. Yes, brachytherapy is done here in England but Jim did not choose it. In the event it was a good job because it is only suitable for very small tumours and his turned out to be extensive even though confined, apparently, to the prostate. The few cells left (0.2 of a gram)obviously were outside the prostate after all, either in the immediate area or metastasised to distant sites. They can't tell at this stage. They can't tell everything from the pre-surgery tests, so they did say he could have brachtherapy if he wished. It isn't done in Liverpool but he could have travelled to Leeds, not too far away, to a specialist brachy centre. " Ordinary " radiotherapy IS done here, and in a worldclass centre too, so we have no worries if he needs radiotherapy; the most effective, safe and up-to-date methods are available. Do take care and relax and stop worrying about not being able to do things. It will take months, Chrissy, not weeks! My panc plays up from time to time but there we are. Lots of love, Fliss (UK)
