Guest guest
Thank you for the kind words and the words of support. For those of you that asked how I ended up with DKA, and how the TP/ICT went I will briefly explain: The TP/ICT occurred 2 years ago May, and I am finally over the trauma of that event. It didn't go textbook perfect in my case as there was more occult damage to the pancrease, fewer cells could be harvested etc. I am in a situation now where I am quite diabetic. My whole metbolism is driven from without by injections of insulin and consuming pancreatic enzymes. The reason I went into to DKA is probably because my beta cells aren't doing their job well enough. I don't believe I had an infection as I was told that the antibiotics I was given were for preventive measures. The way they define DKA is on a continuum on acid-base balance. I was kind of acidic so and had high blood sugars so I was in the DKA range but it was not real bad. I think I have a strong constitution and I bounce back quickly because all these means are put near in case " something bad happens " but I always avoid all that. And doctors always say " usually when we someone with your numbers they look much worse for wear " and so on. Hey. I am just glad that I do bounce back. It sucks to have pain, vomiting, and all the weakness and nastiness that comes from a bout of DKA but I got through it and it is behind me. Now I just have to tred carefully and hope I can keep things in balance. And Fliss I am glad that you like my quote about " sin " . There is a movement in my country right now (I do not mean to offend anyone) that is very petty and specific about what is " good " and what is " evil " and what is " acceptable " and what is " unacceptable " and I think people need to realize that diversity is a gift, and that the steps towards love involve first finding acceptance of differences and then appreciation of these differences. Blessed Be! Bert -- " What we do in life echoes in eternity. " Maximus Decimus Meridius " Every facet, every department of your mind is to be programmed by you and unless you assume your rightful responsibility and begin to program your own mind, the world will program it for you. " attributed to Lilly Sin lies only in hurting others unnecessarily. All other " sins " are invented nonsense.-- Heinlein
