Guest guest
Dear Group, The US Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal issued me a visa today and i'm ready to take a board to arrive at New York City on 5th July. My trip is expected to be about one month and i'll be travelling various places like Connecticut.. New York.. Colorado.. and Hopefully Dallas in Texas. In this route.. i'd love to meet everyone possible from the PAI. I'd also try to make my participation to the annual PAI symposium. Thanks for you all who have sent their best regards and prayed for my success in this regard. Hope everyone's doing well. Guest guest
Rupesh, What exciting news it is that your visa was approved and you'll be making the journey to the US so soon! It's shame that you couldn't have arrived in New York City just a few days earlier so that you could have witnessed the U.S.'s Independence Day, (July 4th), celebrations, especially the spectacular fireworks display that they have over the Hudson River and in the Staten Island bay area. The fireworks are fantastic and plentiful, and especially magnificent being launched over the water. You'll find the New York and Connecticutt areas quite crowded and busy in comparison with the state of Colorado, where there the Rocky Mountains are the featured attraction, both winter and summer. I'd love to hear what your full itinerary is for your trip. If you could tell us what cities and areas you plan to visit, I'm sure many of us could recommend specific places of interest that you would find worthwhile seeing while you're here. The PAI Symposium in Indianapolis, Indiana, isn't until the 16th of September, which is unfortunate for you if you're only going to be in the country for one month. My home here in southern South Carolina is nearly 1,000 miles away from New York and Dallas, and Colorado is even further away, so I'm afraid that there's no chance of us meeting each other. I'm sure that you will have a fantastic trip and see many sites that you'll find diffiicult to forget......there is much diversity in our country and you will notice this by the different areas that you plan to visit. Have a great time!! With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Hi Rupesh, I'm so glad to hear you'll be able to check out our great country!!! When in Manhattan...I know a great Italian seafood restaurant that isn't as expensive as most in the city. It's called Carmine's. It's on the corner of Beekman and Front Streets by the South Street Seaprt and the Fulton Fishmarket. The food is awesome and the restaurant is family style, meaning you sit at long tables with other people. There is a dish called Zuppa d'pesce. Its an Italian Seafood stew with mussels, clams, shrimps, filet and is served over linguine. Also try the appetizer called Clams Possillipo..it is to die for..Enjoy your trip and also take a ride on the Staten Island Ferry, you pass the Statue of Liberty and get the greatest view.
