I'm glad that you're feeling more comfortable about sticking around.

You can see the interest that your situation has generated already.

We really do need to have someone like you active in the group.

Thanks for remembering my history, and my SSDI quest. After my

second appeal and two new confirmed dx's. added to my long list,

I was finally awarded disability in mid January of this year, a couple

of days before I was due to appear before a judge in court. The South

Carolina regional SSDI office was many months backlogged, and I

was told it could be up to 6 months before any payments would be

made. So I've been impatiently waiting with great patience.....LOL....

for the money to start arriving.

Imagine my delight to go to the mailbox late this afternoon and find

a check addressed to me from the U.S. Treasury department!!!

It was a sizable amount of money, actually more than I've seen on

any one check made out to me since my ex-husband and I sold our

house over 20 years ago, but still not quite the amount that I had been

expecting, so I have to talk to my attorney tomorrow and find out

exactly what it covers and what taxes or fees were taken from it.

Any way you look at it, it was a relief to finally get it and have the

process officially started.

I have been doing pretty well until a week and a half ago. I thought

that the worst was over, but apparently started to crow too soon, as

today was a very unpleasant, pain filled day from the moment I got

out of bed. The pain has increased this evening to the point that

I'm unable to sleep or even find a comfortable position to lay down.

It looks as though I'll have to call my doctor for his advice in the

morning after all. I haven't been able to get any relief from the meds

I have here at home, and when that happens I'm in bad shape.

I hope you are doing better, and continue to do so. It's nice to

have you back.

Hi Heidi,

Good for you to receive the check, it's a benchmark for the assurance that

the process is finally working. Sorry for the current pain aspect, I hope you

can lie low, keep hydrated, and experience some releif in some way. Our thoughts

are with you.
