Went back to work last week and the first weeks was roughest. I drink mainly ice water. Minimal coffee, and lay off the alcohol. " Congratulations! I can only imagine how tough that must be. I commend your efforts. It sounds like you are doing things right, water, minimal coffee, no alcohol. The one important component to manage, however, is stress, as it can also bring on an exacerbation. Take your breaks, close the door, avoid cigarette smoke from other employees, as well as office politics. Someone else you returned to work eventually had to request shorter days so she could take an afternoon nap. It's important to do whatever you need to do to make it work. I returned to work briefly after my initial diagnosis, but was unable to resume work following the partial pancreatectomy.
