Guest guest
All - Curious -- has any of you had luck using SCD for acid reflux and/or Barrett's Esophagus? I would be interested to know if you still need to minimize low acid foods on SCD to resolve these issues. Thanks, Cindy
Guest guest
Hi Cindy I have also been diagnosed with Acid Reflux. My kids have been on SCD for two months and I too have done it with them. Remarkably I have found that my Asthma is practically cured and that my acid reflux is so much better. Adding the foods in slowly have shown me what I react to. Absolutely no peanut butter or honey for me. They completely trigger my reflux. I have not purposely steered away from low acid foods. Just did the pecan bread intro diet and slowly started trying foods I used to eat that were legal. The nights where my reflux bothered me after eating an offending food were also nights that I got a stuffy nose too. I have decided to heal my own gut now and stick with the phases that my children are going through to give my gut time to heal before trying the more advanced foods. Good luck! From, Cindy mom to and 3.9 months (born at 28 weeks) ASD and mom to Kenji 11 years born with TGA now corrected, and to Taishi, who had failure to thrive at 9 mos, corrected with grandma's " formula " of fresh boiled vegs and garlic. Smelled of garlic, but did he start to thrive! He drank that broth for a year and is now a bright athletic 12 year old.
