Guest guest
I have been to MUSC and Dr. Cotton probably at least 10 times and never have any bad, substandard or slightly " off " care. Dr. Cotton and MUSC are why I am alive today. I agree with , there are always going to be those in a big institution that are not as caring. But, that is an easy thing to take care of. I would travel across the country if I had to, to see Dr. Cotton. Because he is the primary inventor of the ERCP, who better than to perform that test. I have heard all the horror stories about the ERCP and I am so thankful I have never had a problem. I remember the first time I went down and my lipase was 76,000 YES 76,000! No I didn't hurt......there is a thing called asymptomatic pancreatitis too. If it got that high now I probably would be screaming. Anyway, I asked Dr. Cotton if it were safe to do an ERCP because of all I had heard about getting that pancreas calmed down first. He said let him worry about it and I did. I had no problems whatsoever. Far as I am concerned, the outcome of an ERCP is in the expertise of the person perfoming the test. Also, at one time took care of me and a more caring, compassionate nurse I have never met. I hope you get your dream and get to go back to MUSC and the DDC because I am sure I will be back! Sorry I haven't posted in so long all. I have been on vacation, had a couple weeks I felt bad and just generally lurk about the board but I had to put my " two cents " in on this one.
