Guest guest
Hi to all; I haven't posted for so long, but I do have something to report that may be useful to those of us on Fentanyl patches: My pharmacy (Walgreen's) recently substituted a new Fentanyl patch for the usual Duragesic - they're called simply FENTANYL TRANSDERMAL SYSTEM, and the mfr is MYLAN. Since my husband picked them up for me, I don't know if they were cheaper than the Duragesic, but I CAN tell you all that I like them a LOT better than the Duragesic, mainly because they STAY ON!!! I'm sure we all have been frustrated with the patches Duragesic makes, when they fall off and won't stick back on, and you know that means you will probably run out too soon! Plus, like me, some of you have skin reactions, so it would be helpful to move them around, but you can't do this with Duragesic, and you can with the MYLAN product. Also, this is a patch with the medicine completely embedded in the patch itself, not encased in a gel-filled center, like Duragesic. Now - I will ask for your prayers - I've now been diagnosed with MG, (Myasthenia Gravis) and they also found fairly severe sleep apnea, as well (I stop breathing 16 times a minute). I have been sleeping practically sitting up (when I sleep at all) for the CP, and now this is a necessity with the apnea! All of this, and I am now rapidly losing my eyesight from Macular Degeneration with Drusen, already about 25% of the right eye, and close to 15% of the left eye. I will be " legally blind " . Right now, I'm in complete denial about this, I am terrified of being blind. My depression is severe, it is a matter of losing hope. Love to all my CP friends (Hi, Karyn, glad you are still able to be out and about, wish I could join you in the hospital visits!) in Indy

Guest guest
, have you been prescribed a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure ) Machine to help with your sleep apnea? If not, I recommend you request one. I have sleep apnea and I have one and since have not had any problems with the sleep apnea. What this machine does is continually blow air through your nose so that you get oxygen even when you stop breathing. I can't do anything about your other health issues, but if I hope this is of some help with your sleep apnea. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
