Guest guest
Sheila, Welcome! I am 38 and have a pancreas divisum that has caused my CP. I have not tried any of the treatments that you mentioned so I can't really help on that end but I wanted to say welcome and I know someone will be able to answer your questions better than I can. Guest guest
Hi you guys, I have read your posts enough I am starting to feel like I know some of you guys myself and would like to be part of the group too! My name is Shelia and I have SOD which of course has led to chronic pancreatitis. So far I have only had one endoscopic sphincterotomy although my doc is fairly certain I will eventually require a sphincteroplasty? as there is ductal involvement as well... I posted here once before and someone here, Heidi I think, helped me to find Dr. Cattau here in Memphis and for that I will be forever grateful, he is wonderful! I will never again let anyone else do anything endoscopic to me but him! I am back at work and doing really well but I still have some questions for any one. Before I was diagnosed with the SOD I was considered a heart patient and had documented heart spasms that were recorded during a heart cath. and during the spasms I have significant changes in my EKG, we now know this is the panc spasming causing this but is the heart stuff due to the pain, do you think, has anyone else had this? I also have diastolic heart failure exacerbated I am sure by the fact that I am morbidly obese, I thought to reach this stage I would be skinny, does anyone else have a weight problem. One reason I think I am so overweight is I have proven to my husband and myself that I only have the horrible spasms when my stomach isn't full... has anyone else noticed a corelation to this? Has anyone else been given nitrates and calcium channel blockers to help prevent spasms? My current medications were found to help the spasms as they were given to treat the heart spasms and i don't know if it is normal treatment or not? Just curios as it is working well for me right now. Does anyone else notice a correlation between ovarian type pain during the not so good days? Mine is especially noticeable on the right side but I don't think the cat scans or MRI's have detected anything unusual there. One more question and I'll quit, does anyone else take regulan with their enzymes? I think this has helped me as much as the sphincterotomy and can sure tell by my pain levels if I miss this? I appreciate anyone taking the time to read this long post and would really appreciate any input on any of this! Thank you very much, Shelia
