Hi, I'm new to the group and was hoping to get input on this

situation...Does anyone know if Threelac probiotic is legal? If it

isn't legal, by the ingredients below how bad do you think it is:

Ingredients: Spore Forming Lactic Acid Bacteria: Bacillus Coagulans

(200 million CFU), Bacillus Subtilis (25 million CFU), Enterococcus

Faecalis (25 million CFU), Lemon Juice Powder, Refined Yeast Powder,

Fiber.

This is the situation: I found Threelac about 3wk ago and started

giving it to my 3yr old ASD son. This stuff did amazing things. He

started looking healthier, dark circles looked better, poops went

from undigested food, sour and mushy to beautiful brown formed

poops. Last week I found SCD and we just started the intro diet last

night. I don't know what to do about this probiotic. I saw

wonderful things in a very short time and am scared to death to pull

it from his diet. We were also using VSL, Klaire Complete, and Sac B

long before the Threelac. I pulled VSL and heard Klair Complete

wouldn't be legal either. I can give those up but could use advice

on what probiotic to get in place of those.

Any help would be appreciated, Pam

Threelac is not SCD legal. All the ingredients are illegal. The

only legal probiotics are L. acidophilus (good bacteria) and

Saccharomyces boulardii (good yeast).

Some legal probiotic are listed at

http://www.pecanbread.com/new/probiotics1.html

There is also some very important information about SCD and

probiotics, Elaine's take on probiotics etc.. at this link.

Fermented foods like yogurt, sauerkraut, nut milk yogurt can also

supply good bacteria and the yogurt contain 'protected' bacteria

that can travel farther in the digestive tract. Some of these good

bacteria are L. bulgaricus, S. thermophilus, L. casei (which will

work with the S. boulardii to do even more healing), L. acidophilus

and L. plantarum.
