Guest guest
Hi Ellen, << we just got back from a roadtrip to our DAN doctor in florida. now 3 > of us are established patients. he put my 1 yr old daughter and 3 yr> old son on Alpha-ketoglutorate to decrease ammonia & Co Emzyme Q10 to reduce lactic acid. i looked at the ingredients and they look > illegal. is there anything i can substitute?>> What are the ingredients? also, the dan doctor > wants me on iodoral. is this scd ok? >> Its an iodine supplement. Are you low in iodine? Thyroid trouble? Technically iodine is legal but you'll have to check the ingredients of the individual supplement. For the Alpha-ketoglutorate supplement you can try searching the web for a legal version - it is in a lot of supplements so you'll have quite a bit of internet " sifting " to do. CoQ10: Kirkman's used to make a legal one....one second... Here it is: http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/specialty/coq10/H_CoQ10_T_100_Spe c038.html Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of and > > Alpha-ketoglutorate 300mg caps (1 3x/daily) (decrease ammonia): > (Ingreds: Cellulose, vcaps, vegetarian capsule, l-leucine) > > Co Emzyme Q10 120mg/day (2 60mg tabs/day) (for low lactic acid): > (Ingreds: Vitaline CoQ10: sucrose, dextrose, tricalcium > phosphate, silicon dioxide, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, citric > acid, natural flavor, magnesium sulfate, soy lecithin) > > Ferrous Sulfate 200 mg/5ml elixir for low iron > > Iodoral: high potency iodine/potassium (iodide supplement) > (ingreds: total iodine: 12/5mg, iodine: 5mg, iodide (as > potassium salt) 7.5mg: > micosolle (a silica-based excipient containing a non-ionic > surfactant, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable stearins & > pharmaceutical glaze) > > thanks for your help, > eileen (mom, chronic fatigue syndrome, yeast overgrowth & possibly > heavy metal toxicity); > cole (3 yrs old, SCD 9 mos, ASD, encepholitis, heavy metal toxicity) > & emily (1 yr old, malabsorption, allergies, colitis, failure to > thrive, high levels of lactic acid/ammonia/alkaline phosphalase). >
