hi

we just got back from a roadtrip to our DAN doctor in florida. now 3

of us are established patients. he put my 1 yr old daughter and 3 yr

old son on Alpha-ketoglutorate to decrease ammonia & Co Emzyme Q10 to

reduce lactic acid. i looked at the ingredients and they look

illegal. is there anything i can substitute? also, the dan doctor

wants me on iodoral. is this scd ok?

Alpha-ketoglutorate 300mg caps (1 3x/daily) (decrease ammonia):

(Ingreds: Cellulose, vcaps, vegetarian capsule, l-leucine)

Co Emzyme Q10 120mg/day (2 60mg tabs/day) (for low lactic acid):

(Ingreds: Vitaline CoQ10: sucrose, dextrose, tricalcium

phosphate, silicon dioxide, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, citric

acid, natural flavor, magnesium sulfate, soy lecithin)

Ferrous Sulfate 200 mg/5ml elixir for low iron

Iodoral: high potency iodine/potassium (iodide supplement)

(ingreds: total iodine: 12/5mg, iodine: 5mg, iodide (as

potassium salt) 7.5mg:

micosolle (a silica-based excipient containing a non-ionic

surfactant, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable stearins &

pharmaceutical glaze)

thanks for your help,

cole (3 yrs old, SCD 9 mos, ASD, encepholitis, heavy metal toxicity)

There are some legal CoEnzyme Q10 out there. We use Kirkman's. I am

not familiar with the other supplement.

Its an iodine supplement. Are you low in iodine? Thyroid trouble?

Technically iodine is legal but you'll have to check the ingredients

of the individual supplement.

For the Alpha-ketoglutorate supplement you can try searching the web

for a legal version - it is in a lot of supplements so you'll have

quite a bit of internet " sifting " to do.

CoQ10: Kirkman's used to make a legal one....one second...
