Guest guest
Hello everyone my name is Angie and I am 33 years old. I am a lifegard in Flordia and I survived TS Cindy and hurricane Dennis this weekend. I belonged to another group until I filled out a comment page at tpp and then I saw this (You have been banned from this group by the group moderator (Yahoo! ID banned: angie33111). You may not join the group ThePancreatitisPlace). I only wanted to find someone who has major surgery and their outcome. No one was friendly to me at tpp and I am a very friendly person and think this is very unfairand unjust. I then find out that most everyone left tpp because the owner is trying to start a business and make money off those who are sick like us. She wants everyone to pay her for her services. She told me she was in the hospital only once for pancreatitis and she never goes to the er. I am not like that. When I am in pain I go in the hospital. I have been reading the posts here and you all seen so friendly. I am glad that I found this group. I am equally pleased that the owner is a nurse and has background in this sickness tho I wish she did not have to go thu this pain along with the rest of us. So I am going to ask the same question as I did over there. If anyone has major surgery how long ago and how are you doing today? I wish not to be chronic as I only have acute. I usually have pain every 4 months and I am somewhere in the middle of this time. I do take oxycotten only when I need it for pain. I am always against taking drugs when you do not need them as they lead to addiction. I am also a type 1 diabetic for 20 years but I always keep this under control except when I get sick and then I am in the hospital and it stays under control. I just wanted to say hi and thanks for let me being a part of this group and hope you do not charge for your services like the last place does. Tpp must mean the pay place. Good bye for now. Guest guest
Angie, Hi! I am Angie too! I am 38 and live in SC. I cannot believe they were going to charge you to be in a group! That is unreal. I don't know what kind of surgery you are specifically interested in but I just had surgery for my pancreas divisum 4 weeks ago. I had a major and minor sphincteroplasty. My ducts were closed and the doc opened them up. I went to Dr. Adam's in ton SC. I try not to take pain meds unless I need them also. But with chronic pancreatitis that need changes according to how the pain is on any given day. Welcome to our group! I can tell you that there are wonderful people here and that no one will charge you for advice! I still am reeling over that one! Take care, Angie in SC " The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes along their way. Guest guest
Angie, I haven't had any major surgery for my CP, but I am also a type 1 diabetic, so we do have that in common. I really just wanted to welcome you to the group, and try to make you feel comfortable here, without restrictions. You'll find many friends here, and many people who can help you with your questions. Living with acute pancreatitis must be very difficult, since you never know when it will strike. Those of us with CP are used to the daily episodes and can kind of predict when we're going to have a full out attack, but you're in a sort of different boat... It just hits you flat out on the head when you least expect it, I imagine, and that must be horrible. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you want, and feel free to jump in and comment on anything that interests you. We're all very friendly here, as you'll soon see, and hopefully our concern for your comfort will make up for any bad experiences you had with the other group. We have another Angie here, from SC, where are you from? With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
