Guest guest
Hi shoog, I have never seen a Pain doc. It seems I just kept having surgery so either or my primary would prescribe my pain meds. I cant believe the gall of that women to say all that to you. Too much information is an understatement. I think that if you choose to see those docs you should definetly tell them or the RN in charge what she had said to you. She is more then likely the receptionist and she was way out of line. Also I remember Laurie, aka goutbuster, went to a pain doc that had never seen a cp patient and it turned out to be a very positve experience for her. She was able to enlighten this doctor, a female, about all the problems cp pts have dealing with incompetent physicians regarding pain meds. I think I would check out the local group first, they may just surprise you and maybe you could teach them a thing or two. Besides from what I have gleamed about pain docs they will want you to come in frequently and see a therapist as well so being local would be more convenient. If they turn out to be less then what you are looking for, you can always switch. Also I am not sure but I think Heidi sees a pain doc not too far from where she lives and that may be Augusta. My memory is just not what it used to be but I know that she was quite pleased with the care she received. Ask Heidi who she sees. MUSC has a great pain management dept and I am sure that if you asked would refer you. I used to know a lot of the docs that work in there but that was well over a year ago and I am not too sure who is there now. I do know that they send the anesthesia docs from the OR over there on rotation but again I am not sure who any longer. Are yo still screening your urine? That might be a good idea for a few days to make sure everything passes. Have they ever told you why it is that you keep getting kidney stones? Feel better and let me know if there is anything I can do.
Guest guest
, I hadn't even thought about educating them. I guess that could be a good thing. You are always so great with ideas!! I was really shocked with what that woman was telling me! I have not heard back from her today. I am not sure that I want to. I will call Dr. Adam's or really and ask her about the docs in ton if I can't get anyone here. I have no problem at all with someone there! I am still screening my urine and it seems to be clear now and the color is much better. Instead of looking like pepsi it is now light yellow! So that is a good thing! But of course probably more than you wanted to know! LOL! I love ya' girl! You are always so great! Thanks, Angie " The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes along their way.
