Guest guest
I got a call today from the nutty receptionist that gave me too much info the other day in telling me how dangerous cp is and that I could die from it. Her mother had died from it etc. Anyway, her doc's program was mainly nerve blocks etc. He didn't do pain meds so much. So the doc called me today and he referred me to a Dr. Pam Salazar in Augusta, GA. I called her office and they sounded great. Her receptionist was very informative and said that the doc didn't do the nerve blocks etc. for cp patients she sent them to an anesthesia doc for that and she dealt mainly with helping patients with their pain meds and keeping their pain under control. That is what I was looking for, so that I can get my pain meds from one doc. I am really excited about getting to meet her. I think she is an answer to prayer! I am going to see her on August 4th. If she is anything like the way her receptionist described her she sounds like my kind of doc. And, I didn't need a referral from a doc she just wants the post op surgery notes etc. from Dr. Adam's. She said if I had already been through all of that she didn't need them to call me and try to get an appt. they would get that info from them and that was referral enough. So wish me luck! I hope this is the right one for me! It would be so nice to find the right one on the first try! We all know what a nightmare it is to try and educate docs on cp and pain management for our condition without sounding like a drug addict!! Hope everyone is having a great day!
