Guest guest
I have been having severe pain, right upper quadrant, since the end of April and have had CT scan, upper and lower endoscopy, VQ scan, lots of blood work and the last ultrasound said I have a fatty liver. I was surprised as this is new - since April. I was taking 4000 mg of Naproxen for five days because the pharmacist wrote the wrong directions on my prescription before this pain started. I am glad to hear that the fatty liver can repair if the cause is removed!!! I'm not sure if the medicine caused it, but it has caused me a lot of pain. When I hurt I don't want to say anything because it seems so insignificant when deals with daily pain with his CP. I don't know how he keeps his spirits up and his hope for the future, but he deserves a medal for bravery. I am so proud of him and pray so hard that he will not suffer so much. All of you amaze me when you can keep going and fighting through this. He is having an EUS tomorrow. I hope they can help him and get some answers. His spleen again is twice normal and his liver enzymes are still elevated. They never took his gallbladder out because when he go mono, his spleen enlarged and they were waiting for it to heal, and then it blew up again, but his mono tests are negative this time. His red blood count is still low, but his platelets are still rising and are within normal limits. He is trying to coach high school football, but crashes every night and doesn't know if he'll make it this year. This isn't even regular practice, just small groups of kids at a time and a few hours a day. His junior football league doesn't start till August 1st and he won't give that up because his son plays there, but high school may be too much unless he gets rid of the extra problems. All of you are so wonderful to share and help the way you do. I get so much out of reading and I've picked up so many helpful facts here. Our doctors just don't seem to have any answers and it is so depressing. If he doesn't get better or get some reasons for his spleen and liver soon, I am really going to push for going out of state for an evaluation. He trusts his doctor at U of M and really likes her and she is good about calling him, but she doesn't seem to be able to help him except with his pain. ** fatty liver can heal if you remove the causitive factor and that there is no significant fibrosis**. Thanks for following up on this liver information. Sincerely, who prays for all of you constantly!!
