Guest guest
Hi SCD pals, I have studied long and hard to heal my family. This does create passion in me. I will never trust in the China Study or any other way of eating now. I am truly thrilled that Judy wrote a book. I am not bashing her. It is inspirational. I don't like what Dr. Baker implies about the China Study. Or being able to " go off " SCD some day. SCD works because it biologically reflects how the human body (not just our autistic children) was meant to eat. GUYS this is simple. This is what Elaine says: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/beginners.htm<http://www\ ..breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/beginners.htm> " The Specific Carbohydrate DietT is biologically correct because it is species appropriate. The allowed foods are mainly those that early man ate before agriculture began. The diet we evolved to eat over millions of years was predominantly one of meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, nuts, low-sugar fruits. Our modern diet including starches, grains, pasta, legumes, and breads has only been consumed for a mere 10,000 years. In the last hundred years the increase in complex sugars and chemical additives in the diet has led to a huge increase in health problems ranging from severe bowel disorders to obesity and brain function disorders. We have not adapted to eat this modern diet as there has not been enough time for natural selection to operate. It therefore makes sense to eat the diet we evolved with. " " The Specific Carbohydrate DietT was clinically tested for over 50 years by Dr Haas and biochemist Elaine Gottschall with convincing results. From feedback from the various lists and other information at least 75% of those who adhere rigidly to the diet gain significant improvement. " Also go to www.healingcrow.com<http://www.healingcrow.com/> to learn more. Elaine visited healing crow much when she was alive. The amount of proteins that we are meant to eat depends on our human metabolic needs (unless we have a metabolic conditions that call for change). Most of us if we listen to our bodies after adjusting to SCD will naturally fall into the normal intake. Plus, eating SCD, we naturally eat more vegetables and fruits...because once you take out the foods of the SADIET (starchy sugary standard American diet) what choices are left? Elaine did not want us overindulging in any food group. She suggest that we eat balanced and within reason. Never binging on anything SCD legal. I personally feel that everyone " human " should eat SCD. Good luck to all, ASD or not, Antoinette and entire family SCD 2/
